Patient Consent for Referral Enrolments

When enrolments are submitted through a Referral Workflow, the Referral Consent is valid for 12 months. Patients are not prompted to complete a new Referral Consent if they are enrolled into a new PSP within the year.

When you submit enrolments as Referrals, there are often two consents for the patient to complete.

  1. Consent for the Patient Support Program
  2. Consent for the Referral

Patient consent can be collected in the office or via email/SMS.

The consent for the Patient Support Program is unique to each Drug. However, the consent for the Referral is the same for any enrolment submitted through the Referral Workflow. Because of this, the Referral Consent is valid for a full 12 months.

This means that you will need to collect new patient consent for every new Program a patient is enrolled in. But if you enrol a patient within twelve months through the Referral Workflow you won’t need to collect the Referral Consent in addition to the Patient Support Program consent.

Auxita will not prompt for a new Referral Consent if one was already completed within 12 months.

For example, The patient was prescribed Placebomab for their Chronic Condition. Placebomab is a Biologic drug. Their Physician works with a referral representative and the patient completed the PSP Consent for Placebomab plus the Referral Consent.

The Physician decides to switch the patient to Placebo, a biosimilar, after 6 months. The patient will need to complete the Placebo PSP Consent, but their Referral Consent is still valid in Auxita.
