NOTE By default, all Prior Authorizations expire 1 year after the submission date.

When a Prior Authorization is submitted, an expiry date is automatically applied based on the submission date. You can update this expiry date and adjust reminder timing as needed to match your workflow.
How to set or update an expiry date

Open the patient’s profile.

Under Prior Authorizations, locate the form.
- Click the three ellipses and select Set Expiry & Reminder.

In the Set Expiry & Reminder window, choose the Expiry Date and Expiry Reminder timing.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
NOTE You can select reminder periods of 120, 90, 60, or 30 days. This overrides the default 90-day reminder setting.
Reminder notifications
As a Prior Authorization approaches or passes its expiry date, reminder indicators help identify forms that need attention.
You will see:
- a notification in the Reminders tile on the Home dashboard.
- a warning indicator within the Prior Authorization section of the patient profile.
TIP Expiry reminders appear on the Home dashboard and in summary emails when notification settings are enabled.
How to turn reminders on or off

Open Settings from the bottom-left corner of Auxita.

Scroll to Notification Preferences.

Enable or disable Expiration of Patient Prior Authorization by selecting Show reminders & include in daily summary emails.
NOTE This setting is enabled by default for users with the appropriate permissions.
